ABOUT HEATHER

Heather is an award-winning 26-year-old multimedia professional with experience producing articles, photography & social-media-curated content all the way to news packages & mini-documentaries.

Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Montclair State University with a BA in journalism & a minor in criminal justice, Heather hopes to bring stories of our culture & society to life through visual production.

Outside of the classroom, she has taken on leadership roles as the news editor & editor-in-chief of Montclair State’s student-run news organization, The Montclarion. While her academic time was committed to these roles, she spent two summers interning in New York City at two TV stations: Fox News Channel & WABC-TV. It was in Fox News Channel’s entertainment sector & WABC-TV’s investigative unit where she learned the ins and outs of news package production and what makes for a solid story in today’s ever-changing & competitive news climate.

She also has 3+ years of experience as a true crime TV producer for Law&Crime Trial Network, where she worked on projects that have gained millions of viewers from social media, streaming-based platforms & nationally-syndicated TV shows.

As a professional, Heather is aspiring to shift gears from broadcast news production to digital video content & documentary-style storytelling - leaving time to curate powerful narratives, intensive research & a bigger picture of a story that needs to be shared.

Audio Storytelling

SPRING 2017 MONTCLAIR, N.J. - Blake Camphausen of Toms River, NJ did not have an easy start to middle school. He was often teased for having hobbies & interests that differed from the average boy his age including racing, Star Wars, & abnormal video games.

Now a 20-year-old student resident at Montclair State University, he looks back on the crucial moment that started his journey into the world of martial arts.

Being nervous at first, his biggest concern was getting beat up during lessons. However, after becoming more comfortable with the sport, he used his newfound skills to stand up for himself and discover newfound confidence he’s never seen before; one that would stick with him to this day.

Currently, Camphausen still performs martial arts & has even taught classes in Ocean County, N.J.
